The Dacor Renaissance Epicure EF36BNNFSS may look cheap, but as it turns out, you really can't judge a fridge by its finish.

Introduction

For all of its fancy extra names, the Dacor Renaissance Epicure EF36BNNFSS doesn't seem like much at first glance. The shelves look and feel cheap, the wire freezer is cramped, there's no through-the-door ice and water dispenser (though they can be found internally)...and the fridge doesn't even come with handles! Not a good start for a product that sports a $2,999 MSRP.

That said, this counter-depth model can offer consumers some of the best overall performance that we've seen of late, good enough that it may very well make the fridge worth the investment. This model was designed a couple of years ago, and consumers can use that to their advantage: typical sale prices drop down to about $2,699, but sometimes patience pays off, especially for consumers who want a French door counter-depth and care more about substance than style.
