What to Look For

As the name suggests, top freezer models put the freezer at the top. These are among the cheaper models on offer, with prices ranging from around $400 up to $800.

The top freezer design usually means that the freezer section is small, while the refrigerator takes up the rest of the space. But neither section tends to be particularly large: these models are low in capacity as well as price, and are often found in smaller apartments and rental properties.
